April 29th 2011...
A carte blanche at the 'Rendez-vous Contemporains de Saint-Merry' in Paris. The opportunity to invite some friends to share the stage with me in this beautiful gothic church reputed for being a sacred site for alchemists and protected by the malicious eye of an encouraging Baphomet, a pagan deity set in stone on the tympanum above the entrance.
The Collectif Sin erected an installation spitting rings of incense, Sacha Gattino whistled ghostly tales, Bérangère Maximin invoked her electronic chimeras, Stéphane Charpentier projected dark but scintillating photographs, Gaspar Claus caressed his beloved wood and horse hair, Christelle Lassort emerged like a sylph from the transept, Alice Lewis sang her melancholia in the nave. Olivier Rollin conducted the PA and Erwan Le Mao recorded all of our heartfelt efforts.
Deep, deep thanks to the above people as well as Rendez-vous Contemporains de St Merry, Marguerite Lantz, Frédéric Blondy, Guillaume Mazloum, Pamela Maddaleno, Richard Knox, Uspudo, Daniel Crossley, FareWell Poetry.
Here are a few traces.
